1974: A new directorate and a new assistant keeper

The National Coastal Administration was established in 1974 by a merger of the Lighthouse and Seamark Authority, the Pilotage Authority and the Port Authority.

That same year Rolf Dybvik was appointed new assistant keeper at Lindesnes after having served at Utvær Lighthouse since 1972.

He was trained as a ship’s engineer and had served a few years on a fishing boat before joining the Lighthouse Authority, as had his father Rolf Dybvik.
