In 1782 the King resolves on State operation of the lights and Advocate Andreas Mølbach is appointed Royal Lighthouse Supervisor. He is Marjorie Lawrie’s son-in-law.
But the King insists that the Lighthouse Supervisor reside here and a study is made to find a suitable place for him to live.
The outer side of Selhovden Island is the obvious choice, since the Super- visor must see both lights at the same time in order to monitor the flares.
