1655: The King commands

“We, Frederick the Third, by the Grace of God King of Denmark, Norway etc etc ... hereby make known that We find it both proper and necessary, according to the pleas and desires of both Foreign and Domestic seafarers and travellers, and for the benefit of Navigation and by the Aid of God to lessen all Harm and Instances of Need at Lindesnes, to place thereon a beacon and a light...”


1687: On penalty of death
Christian V of Denmark introduces the Death Penalty for any placement of false beacons or seamarks.


1705: Bans against lights
Frederick IV of Denmark issues a ban on placing lights in windows facing on the sea to prevent the misguiding of ships.
