Further south we find Nisteinsringen (The Nine Stone ring) also called Domarringen (The Judgement circle). Local people are of the opinion that the judges would sit on each of the nine stones in the circle when courts of law were taking place here.
Between Domarringen and Skjelvarspranget , there are two parallel rows of raised stones. All in all there are 11 stones here today, but it is said there were more in the past. Such “roads” are not known anywhere else in Norway.
It is possible that this monument had a somewhat different shape originally and that some of the stones have been moved in order to widen the old pathway nearby.
